Adorable Information
- May 4, 2021 - Adorable added several more shows, five total. I went to two of them as I already had my flight booked by the time they added the fifth show. It's not going to be surprising, but they still put on a hell of a show. I don't have the words to express how amazing those shows were for me and I regret just flat out not going to every single one. The fans that I met were all really great and the band hung out afterwards to talk to everyone and sign stuff. It was like no other concert I had ever seen.
- May 10, 2019 - Tickets for both reunion shows are on sale now. I'm going to both shows. I only saw them once at the Roxy in Los Angeles which was one of my all-time favorite shows and I'm really excited about getting to see them again. Something that I never thought was going to happen.
- May 7, 2019 - 11 years has to be a record for not updating a site but this is big news:
- April 25, 2008 - Caleb emailed me about a rather comprehensive adorable interview at his site WebCutsMusic.com. From that main link you can find other interviews he's done with Pete and I found it really interesting.
- February 29, 2008 - Edward S. wrote in to tell me that Kevin Gritton is now teaching math at Bodmin school. It's at the Roseland school which is in Tregony (near to Truro). I'm in California and have only been to England once, so my UK geography is bad. Here's a Google Maps link if you're looking to track Kevin down. :)
- January 2, 2008 - Cherry Red Records in the UK is releasing "Footnotes - Best of (92-94)". It's pretty standard stuff, the only extra track is an edit of Glorious. But the packaging is where it's at: "The included 20-page booklet with exclusive new extensive liner notes from all four band members – especially written for this release – along with photos, classic sleeve images & items from their personal archives make this to be a rather special package!"
- December 10, 2006 - Robert has a myspace page, go check it out and add him as your friend. Also, I've been out of the loop for a while and Robert was in another band called Viet Cong Blues Project. They covered the Drop Nineteen's "Winona" and you can stream it from their site. Thanks to Jan for waking up the site. :) Oh yeah, that picture of Robert on his MySpace page is the one I took of him at the Roxy in LA all the way back in 1993. How awesome is that.
- December 29, 2003 - WOW! More then one update in the past year!?!?! I was getting a few emails about problems with the mp3 downloads and Internet Explorer. I've installed a new version of the AutoIndex script so things should be better. Also, you might want to update to the latest version of IE (or better yet, just use the superior Firebird.
- November 27, 2003 - I put the mp3's back online now that the site is at it's new home. Enjoy.
- November 11, 2003 - So I've been getting a bunch of email asking "what happened to the MP3's???" I guess that was the only reason to come to this site... Anywya, my provider asked me to take them down for bandwidth considerations. I'm going to be moving this site in the future so they'll be back online in the future...
- April 30, 2002 - how the years fly by... There'a a new adorable page up called A Tribute to Adorable and it looks *really* great! There's even a very recent pete interview on the site, just click on the articles section.
- May 11, 2000 - Over the years people have asked me to put up MP3's of Sense and Nonsense, and Fake and some other songs. Well, after telling them "yeah yeah, I'll get around to it", I actually got around to it!! Check the multimedia page for more info.
- February 24, 2000 - I only came in here to fix the Gemm Records link below (it's been broken for a whole year!) and the main page is now showing that the news has been updated so I might as well say something. Umm.. Robert is studying for his MCSE (Microsoft Certificiation). The hopes of him joining another band and making more music is damn near impossible. Piotr is still rollin' in Polak and they are planning a few shows for the US. Check out their official site for more info. I know, I know, my Polak site sucks at the moment... As far as Wil and Kevin? I dunno. I'm sure they are still teaching or whatever.
- February 1, 1999 - Robert managed to become good friends with the band known as Mogwai. He also joined them onstage for their gig at the London Astoria earlier this month. Go check out www.gemm.com, they have tons of Adorable stuff and I'm sure you can find copies of Fake, Against Perfection and whatever singles you are missing.
- July 20, 1998 - Well, the Adorable reunion happened this week and I will have pictures online when my friend, Dia, comes back from England. There was only 3 songs played: Sunshine Smile, Homeboy, and Sistine Chapen Ceiling.
- March 17, 1998 - There has been rumors floating around about an Adorable reunion gig. Apparently it's supposed to happen at Wil's wedding later this year so tickets aren't going to be sold and there's not going to be a "Best of Adorable" CD to cash in on the event.
- March 5, 1998 - I've started up a Polak site: http://www.odc.net/~ssharma/polak. tell your friends.
- December 13, 1997 - My god, it's been a year since I've updated this news page! Well, here are some interesting facts on Robert and Piotr of Adorable:
- Robert Dilliam was in Los Angeles for the past few months. He came out to visit friends and he also auditioned for a few bands. He is a member of a local band and he will come back out to L.A. if/when they get signed. On a side note, I've met up with Robert as several concerts/clubs and I must say that he is a very good man. He's very cool and hopefully he will be able to make it back here soon.
- Piotr's new band Polak have recorded a few demo songs that they are sending around to various record labels so then can get signed. If I like them, then I will probably start up a Polak Website and maybe some samples of the demos.
- December 23, 1996 - There is a new Piotr band called Polak. This is Piotr and his brother. They have released one song so far and it's on a CMJ disc and it's on a compliation called "Nothing in Common" (Thanks Neptune!). So what happened to Casino?? Well, Mike Mena tells me that the future of Polak is dependent on what happenes with Casino. Acording to Mena, Casino are currently shopping around for a record deal. If things take off for Casino, then that will put things on hold for Polak.
- December 8, 1996 - Here are some FACTS that have been lingering in my mailbox. I'm finally adding them to the News/Rumors Section. (this stuff was send to me by Robert Dilliam. The man himself!)
- the first pre-creation thing on money to burn was indeed a white label etc funded by pat collier (the producer of the wonder stuff and many other bands - i believe he did a lot of the early 1985 jesus and mary chain and primal scream stuff) who also recorded it for us - the story is that we played london and a guy called eddie connelly saw us and we got chatting and he became our manager after a bit and he knew / worked for pat so that was a stroke of luck. without eddie or pat we wouldn't have got signed when we did... the white label got us some interest and then there was the record companies bit... we played on the "N.M.E. On For '92" gig at the venue in london (the line us was midway still headlining, then fabulous then suede (!!!) then us). andy ross from food records and alan mcgee were interested and there was a bit of a bidding war type thing but creation were really up for it so we went with them.
- Kevin is now a teacher in Bath, England (12-18yrs!!)
- Wil is teaching english to kids in Vietnam
- Piotr is doing Casino and working in a second hand book shop in Brighton as well
- There never was a Slowdive audition for Robert Dilliam. Slowdive and Adorable were just good friends. When they both broke up, Rob called them up and talked. Nothing ever happened. It would have been cool to have Robert in Mojave 3. They are a great band.
- this thing about piotr hitting me over a girl is ermm... kinda funny. i don't recall him hitting me (we had a few knocks at the gigs but that was because we moved about a lot on stage...!!??!) none of us ever hit each other, we'd moan a bit sometimes...
- the dufflecoats (actually called jesus in a duffelcoat) and the applicants were bands that i did with marion my girlfriend. we did a few singles and a few comp c.d.'s for a laugh with some friends of ours. all very shop assistants-y.
- Robert Dilliam from Adorable is alive and well. If you have any questions for the man, then please let me know.
- Erwin Raasveld informs me that Piotr was some kind of film maker. Does anyone know anything about this?
- Since no one was super cool and typed up the article on Adorable in the Select magazine. I had to drive an hour to the Virgin MegaStore in Costa Mesa just to buy a 5 dollar Slect Magazine!!! I typed it up and it's interview #2
- Info (info@southern.com) mailed me and said that Adorable actually left Creation. Supposedly from a source Very close to the band. Apparently they weren't happy with the way the label was treating them.
- Martyn Amos said that Kev's now training to be a teacher at Warwick.
- Allison has emailed me this stuff that I thought you should know.
- Will and/or Kevin are in a band call the Dufflecoats - they have a couple of songs on a comp. 7"
- Win's real name is Stephen Mark Williams.
- You can get a list of all of Adorable's songs (released and unreleased) at http://bmi.com (type FIJALKOWSKI PIOTR at the search screen).
- Piotr's older brother, Krzysztof is in a good band called the Bardots. They have a cd out in Canada called Sad Anne, you can find in here too, if you look. It's a compliation of most of their first album, Eye baby (which is impossible to find... th
e label went bankrupt right after its release).
- Another reason they split was because Rob and Piotr were fighting...
- Piotr slapped him during one of their last shows because they were both after the same girl. (DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THIS!!! --ajay)
- Robert Mason emailed me and gave me this vital information:
- Piotr has a new band called Casino who's demos are floating around London. They are supposed to much different than Adorable, more dancy. Apparantely, Piotr dropped his guitar and bought all kinds of keyboard stuff.
- The guitarist tried out for the guitarist position in Slowdive and didn't make it and supposedly hasn't touched his guitar since then. He's been too depressed.
